Oliver, the cluster at 82nd became a cluster at 37th: you, Derek Melvin and Garrett Devine, six teams in common each, all sit at 221. Virginia, the realistic path, walked into the poll at No. 25, and Penn State climbed to 16th, Notre Dame to No. 3, Utah to 20th. Texas Tech gave three back. Peter Malinosky, also six in common, is 55th at 217.

South Carolina, the other realistic path, drew 19 votes and FPI has the Gamecocks 15th, with Towson coming to Columbia. James Madison, the long shot, drew four and hosts Wagner. The big Saturday games are still someone else's problem, and after a weekend when Clemson and Boise State both lost, that is a fine problem not to have.
